The Old Poets Corner now Mock Tudor in design, dates back in it's original state to the 17th century when it was a traditional Coaching Inn during the lifetime of Leonard Wheatcroft - the Ashover (or Black) Poet. It is located in the beautiful village of Ashover with miles of scenic walks straight off the doorstep.

Also close by is the quaint Ashover Brewery. Step out of the door to see beautiful views and walk footpaths along the river Amber and Ashover Light Railway trail down to Ogston reservoir. Ashover won the prestigious Calor Village of the Year competition in 2005 but many other places of interest are only a short drive away, Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock, Crich & Chesterfield for starters.
